How
many cabinet lines do you carry?
Our custom cabinet lines are Grabill Quality Cabinetry, Kitchen Jewels,
Ultracraft and Cuisines Laurier. Our semi-custom cabinet line is Medallion. Semi-custom lines are an affordable alternative to the custom lines we carry if budget is a top priority. Another alternative for laundry areas and kids’ baths are our production-grade line,

Why should I pay a design retainer when others will design my kitchen for free?
Needless to say, this is your choice. However, it is simple logic that if 15 to 20 clients want a room designed, we will be unable to give each of those jobs the dedicated time, talent and care required to create a plan that meets our standards and your expectations. Multiple members of our design team labor over each plan for many hours. The payment of a design retainer ensures priority service. In addition, the entire amount that you pay for such services is credited back to your account when you purchase cabinetry for your home (minimum purchase required). Our design retainer explains the different levels of design services we can provide; our basic fee starts at $1,500.

Why are plans for my project copyrighted?
There are two reasons your plans are copyrighted. First, each kitchen or custom cabinetry project we work on is unique and will never be duplicated in the future. This guarantees that your project is one-of-a-kind. Second, because the plans provide the technical engineering directions on how the project should be carried out, it is important that Kitchens by
Teipen, Inc., be involved in the project’s implementation. Copyrighted plans cannot be legally used by another firm to execute your project unless they are purchased from and licensed by Kitchens by
Teipen, Inc.

How long does it take to do a kitchen?
Each job is different. Sometimes the selection process itself takes weeks or even months, depending on the client. Other times all decisions are made very rapidly. Once this hurdle is overcome and the cabinets are on order, we order all other components and keep them in our storage area so that when the cabinets arrive everything is ready to go. Most cabinet deliveries take 6-8 weeks. Once we start a job, we work as steadily as we are able, given the coordination challenges of the various subcontractors required for your job. There will be down times as it is impossible to be assured that each sub will complete their portion of the work on any given day. Our promise to you is that we will stay attentive to your project until it is complete. Some smaller jobs are done in two to three weeks;
larger jobs can take as long as several months.

Do you reface existing cabinets?
No we do not. There are companies that do provide this service. If resurfacing is the option that you are considering, it is important to know that your door and drawer fronts are the only materials being replaced. The cabinet interior, shelves, drawer boxes and glides will remain the same, while your cabinet frame is stripped and re-stained. You end up paying approximately 70% of the cost you would have paid for all new cabinetry, but you still have the same cabinetry, layout and space constraints. For a little more you can have all new cabinetry.

What happens to the “old stuff” that comes out of my home?
We generally dispose of the materials for you. However, we can try to preserve the materials for reuse. We recommend clarifying with us those materials that you would like to save prior to the removal phase. This phase is messy and unpredictable, and we cannot guarantee that we will be able to save material. If you wish to donate the material,
please make arrangements with Rehabilitation Resources.

Will you design a kitchen that my builder or contractor can install?
We will supply cabinets and countertops only. To ensure the best possible results, we highly recommend that you allow us to manage the entire process. If you wish to have your builder or contractor do the installation, the responsibility will belong to the builder, remodeler or you, the homeowner. We require that you fully understand that installation by others means that we are not responsible for unloading or meeting the cabinet delivery, and undeclared damage not reported in a timely manner, door and drawer adjustments and labor warranty.
